Description

You are bidding on an 8 x 10 black and white photograph of HMCS Buctouche K 179,  the Flower  Class Corvette of the ( 1939-1940  ) Program, which served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1941 to 1945.
Buctouche was laid down on August 14, 1940, at the Davie Shipbuilding yards at Lauzon, Quebec. She was launched on November 20, 1940 , and commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy on June 5, 1941.
Like her sister corvettes she served on convoy escorts in the Battle of Atlantic.
She was paid off in June 1945, and broken up at Hamilton, Ontario in 1949.
Photograph one, is undated and shows an overhead waterline port bow view.
Item two is an 8 x 10 colour statistics sheet showing the ships badge, general characteristics, callsign, trivia, and the ensigns she proudly flew.
Item three is an 8 x 10 colour with a short history of the Buctouche , complete with a list of her Commanding Officers, and an undated crew photo.
